Popular Tag Clouds for Purists
Nice implementation of a ‘popular’ tag cloud over at virb.com. Apart from being far prettier than most implementations, it’s also ordered by popularity. The convention seems to be to list tags alphabetically and then indicate popularity through font-size. Virb’s implementation is less fussy.

I’ve always found tag clouds messy to design, but being alphabetical they have the advantage of showing if a tag is there or not at a glance.
